Robert Broaden vs John Smith

Boxing Daily Report from the Rattlesnake Promotions promoted show at Rattlesnake Gym, Arlington,  taking place on 05/07/2024:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 4 round matchup are Robert Broaden (8 - 0) who hails from Los Angeles, USA and John Smith(2 - 0) from Pembroke Pines, USA.  Broaden weighed in at 200 pounds, while Smith weighed in at 199 pounds and 14 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Noah Fergusson, and the three ringside judges are Chris Suit, Andy Saenz and James Curto.  

Round 1: 

Broaden feints a jab, and then lands a jab.  
Smith throws a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Broaden hits home with an overhand left.

Broaden throws a short cross to the body, but lands low!  The ref stops the action.  The ref sends Smith to the neutral corner.  He lectures Broaden but does not take away a point.  
Broaden drives a left hook into his opponents ribs.  
Smith steps away from his opponent.  Broaden sidesteps to the left of his opponent and finds the target with a jab.  
Smith walks his opponent down, trapping him in the red corner.  Smith pivots to the side of his opponent.  Broaden drives a left hook into his opponents ribs.  
Smith lands a stinging jab.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Broaden's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Smith's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.
