Ben Daun vs Chris Koperau

Boxing Daily Report from the Nkoloma Promotions promoted show at Papatoetoe Cosmopolitan Club, Auckland,  taking place on 12/08/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  On the line tonight is the New Zealand-Wellington Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Ben Daun (7 - 4 - 4) who hails from Wellington, New Zealand and Chris Koperau(10 - 2 - 3) from Wellington, New Zealand.  Both Daun and Koperau weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ian Croskey, and the three ringside judges are Alen Kaneri, Justin Patariki and Oliver Ngarongomate.  

Round 1: 

Daun digs in a right hook to Koperau's ribs.  
Daun manouvers Koperau into the corner.  Daun drives a left hook into his opponents body.  
Koperau switches the action to the outside and lands a sharp jab.  
Daun is looking to close the distance.  Koperau throws a right uppercut, but Daun holds on to his opponent.  Daun pushes his forearm into Koperau's face.  The ref breaks Daun's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Daun advances into close range.  Koperau pivots to the left of his opponent.  Koperau tries to land a left uppercut, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right hook to Koperau's ribcage.  
Daun throws a right hook, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a right uppercut to his opponents ribcage.  
Koperau switches the action to the outside and lands a jab.  
Daun advances into close range.  Koperau connects with a right hook.  
Daun lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Koperau is looking to keep his distance and hits home with an overhand right.  
Daun hits home with a right uppercut.
