Shayan Sharif vs Paul Penrose

Boxing Daily Report from the Smoking Joe promoted show at Belasco Theatre, Los Angeles,  taking place on 06/08/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Shayan Sharif (3(2) - 0) who hails from Bakersfield, USA and Paul Penrose(5 - 8 - 2) from New York City, USA.  Both Sharif and Penrose weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Noah Rankin, and the three ringside judges are Daniel Weir, Lewis Suttie and Darryl Bruce.

Penrose is looking to close the distance and walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Sharif is on target with a stinging right hook to his opponents body.  
Sharif attempts to land a left hook, but Penrose sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Penrose quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Sharif drives a left hook into Penrose's ribs.  
Sharif throws a right uppercut, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Sharif lands a left hook to the body followed by two right hook's to the head.  Sharif clinches his opponent.  Penrose leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Sharif's hold and signals for the fight to continue.

Sharif tries to step out of his opponents range and lands with a hard jab.
