Boxing Daily Report from the AI USA-Utah promoted show at Richie Akins Gym, Salt Lake City,  taking place on 03/08/2024:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Mountain West Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are John Rowan (2 - 9(1) - 4 - 1(NC)) who hails from Salt Lake City, USA and Rhys Bowen(12 - 1 - 3) from Salt Lake City, USA.  Rowan weighed in at 135 pounds, while Bowen weighed in at 134 pounds and 14 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Justin Lloyd, and the three ringside judges are Neil Probert, Arran Doyle and Charlie McNeely.  

Round 1: 

Bowen advances into close range.  Rowan hits home with a left uppercut.  
Rowan feints a jab, but Bowen does not fall for it and lands with a cross.  
Rowan attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref ignores Bowen's complaints and signals for the action to continue.
