Mikhail Varlamov vs Walenty Rak

Boxing Daily Report from the Frank Smith’s Tea Boy Promotions promoted show at Dynamo Palace of Sports, Moscow,  taking place on 07/10/2024:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  On the line tonight is the Eastern Europe Light Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Eurosport Russia, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Mikhail Varlamov (13(10) - 0) who hails from Prokopyevsk, Russia and Walenty Rak(15(9) - 0) from Katowice, Poland.  Both Varlamov and Rak weighed in at 175 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Afon Rastvortsev, and the three ringside judges are Vikenti Levitsky, Kir Volkov and Valeri Samedov.  

Round 1: 

Rak advances into close range.  Rak voluntarily retreats back onto the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Varlamov is whaling away with hooks, but Rak keeps his defence tight.

Rak steps inside.  Varlamov sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Rak lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.
