Sancho Yero vs Jose Merida

Boxing Daily Report from the Cestrian promotions promoted show at Palau de Congressos de Catalunya, Barcelona,  taking place on 31/07/2024:

Clearly Cestrian promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Sancho Yero (8 - 1 - 2) who hails from Madrid, Spain and Jose Merida(6 - 3 - 3) from Madrid, Spain.  Yero weighed in at 200 pounds, while Merida weighed in at 199 pounds and 12 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Juan Can, and the three ringside judges are Alejandro Lince, Rodrigo Pacifico and Guillermo Algarin.  

Round 1: 

Merida quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and hits home with a left hook.  
Merida is looking to close the distance.  Yero pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Yero switches the action to the outside.  Yero lowers his guard, attempting to draw a lead.  Merida attempts to land an overhand left, but Yero sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Merida closes the distance and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Yero tries to keep the action at long range and lands three consecutive straights to his opponents head.
