Odilon Mendy vs Honore Paradis

Boxing Daily Report from the Wigwam Promotions promoted show at Radisson Blu Hotel, Dakar,  taking place on 25/08/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 4 round matchup are Odilon Mendy (4 - 0) who hails from Pikine, Senegal and Honore Paradis(0 - 2 - 1) from Dakar, Senegal.  Mendy weighed in at 160 pounds, while Paradis weighed in at 159 pounds And 15 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Aramis Gassama, and the three ringside judges are Orleans Dabo, Gaston Angrand and Fletcher Duras.  

Round 1: 

Paradis closes the distance.  Mendy lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents head.

Paradis closes the distance.  Mendy pivots to the left of his opponent.  Paradis attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref ignores Mendy's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Mendy pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Mendy is looking to close the distance and walks Paradis down, trapping him in the corner.  Mendy pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a right uppercut, left hook and a right hook to his opponents head.  
Mendy sidesteps to the right of his opponent and is on target with a left uppercut to his opponents liver.  
Mendy gets on the inside and lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Mendy is on target with a left uppercut.  
Mendy is looking to close the distance.  Mendy pivots from in front of his opponent and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Paradis hits home with a right hook.  
Mendy closes the distance and manouvers Paradis into the red corner.  Mendy digs in a left hook to Paradis's ribs.  
Mendy pivots from in front of his opponent and connects with a left hook.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Mendy dabs at his face checking for damage.

Mendy retreats back to the ropes, and waits for his opponent to attack.  Paradis accepts the invitation, throwing powerful combos, but is unable to land anything on Mendy.  Paradis hits home with a cross.

Mendy closes the distance and lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Mendy's trainer is telling his fighter to play it safe for the remainder of the fight. Paradis's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.
