Phil McFarlane vs Ken McAffee

Boxing Daily Report from the Frank Smith’s Tea Boy Promotions promoted show at Exchange Auditorium Manchester Central, Manchester,  taking place on 03/08/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Phil McFarlane (7 - 0) who hails from London, UK and Ken McAffee(1 - 2 - 1) from Leeds, UK.  Both McFarlane and McAffee weighed in at 121 pounds and 14 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Jonathan Dunn, and the three ringside judges are Blake Forgie, Deri Hare and Wayne Latham.  

Round 1: 

McFarlane lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
McFarlane quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
McAffee is on target with a right hook to his opponents body.  
McAffee throws a left uppercut, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a cross.

McFarlane digs in a left uppercut to his opponents ribs.  
McFarlane gets on the inside.  McAffee pivots to the side of his opponent.  McFarlane lands a double right hook to his opponents head.

McFarlane closes the distance.  McAffee quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  McFarlane connects with a left hook.  McFarlane throws a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
McAffee hits home with a cross.  
McFarlane advances into close range.  McFarlane connects with a left uppercut.  McAffee wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as McFarlane dabs at his face checking for damage.  
McFarlane connects with a right uppercut.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...McAffee's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  McAffee's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.
