Dai Kimmey vs Mark Carlyle

Boxing Daily Report from the T5 Promotions promoted show at T5 Gym, North Shore,  taking place on 10/08/2024:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Dai Kimmey (5 - 0) who hails from Auckland, New Zealand and Mark Carlyle(1 - 13 - 2) from Auckland, New Zealand.  Both Kimmey and Carlyle weighed in at 108 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Rob Horsburgh, and the three ringside judges are Glynn Telford, Mark Vaux and Hani Rarere.  

Round 1: 

Carlyle closes the distance.  Kimmey lands a right hook to the body followed by two left hook's to the head.  
Kimmey lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Kimmey closes the distance and lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  Kimmey holds on to his opponent.  Kimmey is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Kimmey about fouling.  
Kimmey sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Carlyle gets on the inside.  Kimmey lands a left hook.  Kimmey clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Kimmey pushes his forearm into Carlyle's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Kimmey about fouling.  
Kimmey lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Kimmey lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Kimmey manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Carlyle connects with a left hook.  Carlyle tries to land a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut to Carlyle's body.  
Kimmey lands a left hook.  
Kimmey gets on the inside and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Carlyle throws a right hook, but Kimmey clinches his opponent.  Carlyle is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Carlyle.  
Kimmey lands two consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents head.  
Kimmey connects with a left hook.  
Kimmey is on target with a right hook to Carlyle's ribcage.  
Carlyle manages to force Kimmey onto the ropes.  Kimmey is on target with a cross.  
Carlyle pivots to the right of his opponent.  Carlyle throws a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Kimmey lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Kimmey connects with a left hook.  
Carlyle lands a right hook.  
Kimmey lands two left hook's to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Carlyle's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Carlyle's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Carlyle's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Carlyle gets on the inside.  Kimmey sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Kimmey lands a left hook.  Kimmey ties up his opponent.  Carlyle tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Kimmey behind the head. Kimmey leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Kimmey lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  Kimmey ties up his opponent.  Kimmey is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Kimmey and breaks the clinch.  
Kimmey lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Kimmey closes the distance and digs in a left uppercut to his opponents liver.  Kimmey ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Kimmey pushes his forearm into Carlyle's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and sends Carlyle to the neutral corner.  He takes Kimmey's arm and signals to each judge that a point should be deducted!  
Kimmey advances into close range.  Carlyle throws a left uppercut, but Kimmey holds on to his opponent.  Kimmey tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Carlyle's kidney. The referee warns Kimmey and breaks the clinch.  
Kimmey is on target with a right hook to his opponents body.  
Kimmey sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a left hook.  
Kimmey is on target with a cross.  
Kimmey gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Kimmey lands a left hook.  
Kimmey is looking to close the distance and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Kimmey hits home with a right hook.  As Kimmey tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Carlyle dabs at his face checking for damage.

Kimmey hits home with a right hook.  
Kimmey connects with a left hook.  Kimmey ties up his opponent.  Kimmey is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The referee breaks the clinch and warns Kimmey to stop holding.
