Josh Mitchell vs Juan Bernardez

Boxing Daily Report from the Gore Promotions promoted show at Gore Gym, Boston,  taking place on 07/09/2024:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Josh Mitchell (7 - 0) who hails from Nashville, USA and Juan Bernardez(3 - 4 - 3) from La Paz, Bolivia.  Mitchell weighed in at 117 pounds And 15 ounces, while Bernardez weighed in at 118 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ian Noble, and the three ringside judges are Fred Reese, Dave Greenan and Peter Cooper.  

Round 1: 

Bernardez closes the distance.  Bernardez pivots to the side of his opponent.  Mitchell lands a left hook.  
Mitchell lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Mitchell gets on the inside and is on target with a left hook.  
Mitchell quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Mitchell advances into close range.  Mitchell pivots from in front of his opponent and connects with a right hook.  
Mitchell is looking to close the distance.  Mitchell pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Mitchell dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Mitchell lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a right hook to the head.  Mitchell holds on to his opponent.  Mitchell throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Mitchell pivots to the right of his opponent and lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents head.  
Bernardez gets on the inside.  Mitchell lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Mitchell pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a left hook.

Mitchell closes the distance and throws a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot.  Mitchell clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Mitchell pushes his forearm into Bernardez's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Mitchell about fouling.  
Mitchell lands a right hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  He follows up the attack and lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Mitchell pivots to the side of his opponent and connects with a cross.  
Mitchell feints a cross, and then is on target with a right uppercut.  
Mitchell lands a cross to the body followed by a jab to the head.  
Mitchell is looking to close the distance.  Mitchell quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  
Bernardez quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Mitchell lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Mitchell steps inside.  Mitchell pivots to the right of his opponent.  Bernardez throws a left hook, but Mitchell clinches his opponent.  Mitchell leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Mitchell's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Mitchell forces Bernardez to retreat into a corner.  Mitchell lands a right hook.  
Bernardez attempts to land a jab, but Mitchell dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut.

Bernardez is looking to close the distance.  Mitchell backs onto the ropes...he is waving his opponent in!  Bernardez accepts the invitation, throwing powerful combos, but is unable to land anything on Mitchell.  
Mitchell closes the distance.  Bernardez quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Bernardez throws a right hook, but the shot lands on his opponents guard.  Mitchell ties up his opponent.  Bernardez uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Mitchell behind the head. The referee breaks the clinch and warns Bernardez to stop fouling.  
Mitchell closes the distance and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.

Mitchell gets on the inside.  Bernardez throws a left hook, but Mitchell ties up his opponent.  Mitchell tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Bernardez behind the head. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Mitchell.
