Demetrios Hamiti vs Ryo Shimamoto

Boxing Daily Report from the Carabetian Promotions promoted show at Kyoto University, Kyoto,  taking place on 19/08/2024:

Clearly Carabetian Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Demetrios Hamiti (2 - 0) who hails from Tirana, Albania and Ryo Shimamoto(0 - 3) from Tokyo, Japan.  Both Hamiti and Shimamoto weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Hikaru Mayeda, and the three ringside judges are Ichiro Mino, Kei Katayama and Hiroki Noda.  

Round 1: 

Hamiti lands a cross.

Shimamoto is looking to close the distance and throws a left uppercut, but Hamiti ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Shimamoto pushes his forearm into Hamiti's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.

Shimamoto advances into close range.  Hamiti sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Shimamoto throws a right hook, but Hamiti ties up his opponent.  Hamiti leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.
