Kirk Mortensen vs Leon Corcoran

Boxing Daily Report from the Mr. Vicious promoted show at City West Hotel, Dublin,  taking place on 31/08/2024:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Kirk Mortensen (1 - 0) who hails from Oslo, Norway and Leon Corcoran(4 - 8 - 3) from Cork, Ireland.  Both Mortensen and Corcoran weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Gareth Byrne, and the three ringside judges are Mark McClellan, Roy Clery and Carl MacRae.  

Round 1: 

Mortensen finds the target with a jab.  
Mortensen attempts to land a right hook, but Corcoran blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Mortensen steps inside and drives a stinging left hook into Corcoran's ribs.  
Corcoran throws a left hook, but Mortensen holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Mortensen pushes his forearm into Corcoran's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Mortensen.  
Mortensen digs in a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Mortensen lands a solid left hook.  
Mortensen walks Corcoran onto the ropes.  Mortensen lands a left uppercut followed by  two right hooks to his opponents body.  
Mortensen digs in a right hook to Corcoran's ribs.  
Mortensen drives a left hook into Corcoran's body.  
Mortensen gets on the inside and throws a right uppercut, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a right hook.

Mortensen forces Corcoran to back into the ropes.  Mortensen throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Mortensen lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Mortensen dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Mortensen is looking to close the distance.  Corcoran throws a right hook, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a firm cross.  
Mortensen walks Corcoran down, trapping him in the red corner.  Mortensen lands a left uppercut followed by  two right hooks to his opponents body.  
Mortensen throws a right uppercut, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Mortensen connects with a right hook.  
Mortensen lands a right hook followed by  two left hooks to his opponents body.

The ref breaks Mortensen's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Mortensen closes the distance and is on target with a firm right hook to his opponents ribs.  
Mortensen pivots to the left of his opponent and is on target with a stinging left hook to his opponents body.  
Corcoran is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Mortensen lands a solid overhand left.  
Mortensen is on target with a sharp jab.  
Corcoran tries to keep the action at long range.  Mortensen sidesteps to the right of his opponent and connects with a cross.  
Mortensen lands a double jab to his opponents head.
