Xeres Fierro vs Nori Tomita

Boxing Daily Report from the Glove Shack promoted show at Ota-City General Gymnasium, Tokyo,  taking place on 24/08/2024:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Xeres Fierro (9(4) - 0) who hails from Soyapango, El Salvador and Nori Tomita(9 - 8(1) - 3) from Yokohama, Japan.  Both Fierro and Tomita weighed in at 122 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Hideki Ishibashi, and the three ringside judges are Keiichi Iida, Hikaru Nakamura and Hisao Yamane.  

Round 1: 

Fierro backs onto the ropes...he is waving his opponent in!  Tomita tries to tag Fierro on the ropes, but his opponent blocks every shot!  
Tomita tries to keep the action at long range.  Fierro lands a stinging jab.  
Tomita quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Fierro attempts to land a jab, but Tomita sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Fierro steps inside and throws a right uppercut, but his opponent sidesteps.  Fierro ties up his opponent.  Fierro is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Tomita switches the action to the outside.  Fierro lands a jab to the body followed by a cross to the head.  
Fierro is looking to close the distance and connects with a stinging right hook.  
Fierro closes the distance and is on target with a solid right hook.  
Fierro lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  Fierro ties up his opponent.  Fierro throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. Fierro pushes his forearm into Tomita's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Fierro lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  
Fierro lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  Fierro clinches his opponent.  Fierro tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Tomita behind the head. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Fierro closes the distance and lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Fierro lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  He then lands a left hook followed by  two right hooks to his opponents head.

Tomita throws a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a solid left uppercut.

Fierro is looking to close the distance.  Fierro connects with a firm right hook.  As Tomita tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Fierro dabs at his face checking for damage.

Tomita switches the action to the outside.  Fierro lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Fierro lands a solid right hook.  
Fierro lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  Fierro holds on to his opponent.  Fierro is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Fierro gets on the inside.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Tomita has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused slight damage to the nose.

Fierro lands a right hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  
Fierro lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Fierro gets on the inside.  Tomita throws a right hook, but Fierro clinches his opponent.  Fierro leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Fierro's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Tomita is starting to lose his head here!   He throws a low uppercut...that landed well below the belt! The ref separates the two fighters and tells Tomita to keep his punches up.  He gives Fierro a few minutes to recover.

Fierro lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Fierro lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Fierro drives a left uppercut into Tomita's body.

Frustration is reaching boiling point for Tomita now.   He throws a low uppercut...that landed well below the belt! The ref takes no action over the foul, despite complaints from Fierro.  
Tomita pivots to the left of his opponent and connects with a cross.  
Fierro steps inside.  Tomita sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Fierro lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head, KNOCKING TOMITA DOWN!  He manages to get up at 6.  
Fierro is on target with a left hook.  
Fierro lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  He then lands a double left hook to his opponents head, AND SENDS TOMITA SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He makes it to one knee, but is unable to rise any further as the ref counts 10!  The winner by KO is Fierro!
