Barry Nevin vs John Meikle

Boxing Daily Report from the Adams Promotions promoted show at John Hunter Gym, Omaha,  taking place on 02/09/2024:

Clearly Adams Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Nebraska Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Barry Nevin (5 - 6 - 1) who hails from Omaha, USA and John Meikle(7 - 0) from Lincoln, USA.  Both Nevin and Meikle weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is James Broadley, and the three ringside judges are Robert Coupland, William Huggett and Edwyn Kendrick.  

Round 1: 

Meikle feints a left hook, and then lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Nevin advances into close range.  Meikle digs in a right hook to his opponents body.

Nevin wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Meikle dabs at his face checking for damage.
