Ricky Newall vs Jay Costain

Boxing Daily Report from the Hennessy Boxing promoted show at Convention & Exhibition Centre, Melbourne,  taking place on 28/09/2024:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  On the line tonight is the Oceania Super Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on SBS1, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Ricky Newall (7 - 0) who hails from Sydney, Australia and Jay Costain(12(2) - 2 - 1) from Waitakere, New Zealand.  Both Newall and Costain weighed in at 168 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Paul Lawrie, and the three ringside judges are Alec Saghatelian, Mark McBride and Paul Elmasyan.
