Joel Mkhize vs Umi Nomvete

Boxing Daily Report from the AI South Africa-Gauteng promoted show at Mamelodi Wana, Mamelodi,  taking place on 09/09/2024:

Clearly AI South Africa-Gauteng have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the South Africa-Gauteng Super Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on AIT Sports, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Joel Mkhize (5 - 6(1) - 2) who hails from Pretoria, South Africa and Umi Nomvete(7 - 9 - 2) from Mamelodi, South Africa.  Both Mkhize and Nomvete weighed in at 168 pounds.  
The referee tonight is William Ekstein, and the three ringside judges are Peter Mbalula, Rob Bakwamba and Here Van Heerden.
