James Clery vs James Blaney

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, Gold Coast,  taking place on 28/09/2024:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Australia-Queensland Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on SBS1, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are James Clery (4 - 12) who hails from Townsville, Australia and James Blaney(5 - 8 - 4) from Brisbane, Australia.  Both Clery and Blaney weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Fraser McNabb, and the three ringside judges are Paul Phaup, Richie Higgins and Seth Urbano.  

Round 1: 

Blaney steps inside and throws a left uppercut, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Clery tries to step out of his opponents range.  Blaney connects with a cross.
