Martin McCardle vs Oleos Diaz

Boxing Daily Report from the Frank Smith’s Tea Boy Promotions promoted show at Event City, Manchester,  taking place on 05/10/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Sky Sports, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Martin McCardle (8 - 0) who hails from Glasgow, UK and Oleos Diaz(3 - 11 - 1) from Mexico City, Mexico.  Both McCardle and Diaz weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Dai Tierney, and the three ringside judges are Paul McCalla, Robert Goff and Ewan Goodlet.

McCardle hits home with a left hook.

Diaz is looking to close the distance and throws a left hook, but McCardle clinches his opponent.  McCardle tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Diaz behind the head. McCardle pushes his forearm into Diaz's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns McCardle to stop fouling.  
McCardle lands with a stinging jab.  
Diaz gets on the inside.  McCardle hits home with a right hook.  
Diaz advances into close range and throws a left hook, but McCardle clinches his opponent.  McCardle leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. McCardle is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
McCardle drives a left hook into Diaz's ribs.  
McCardle sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  McCardle throws a left hook, but is off-target.  McCardle ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, McCardle pushes his forearm into Diaz's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.
