Arnie Purdie vs Cody Frasier

Boxing Daily Report from the GAT Management promoted show at Harry Belling Gym, Gaineau,  taking place on 13/09/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Arnie Purdie (4 - 0) who hails from Ottawa, Canada and Cody Frasier(6 - 6 - 4) from Chicago, USA.  Purdie weighed in at 126 pounds, while Frasier weighed in at 125 pounds and 13 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Johnny Smith, and the three ringside judges are Bruce Hathorne, Elliot Girardot and Gerard Segalen.  

Round 1: 

Purdie lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Purdie walks Frasier into the corner.  Purdie lands a left hook to the head followed by two right hook's to the body.  As Purdie tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Frasier dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Purdie connects with a left hook.  
Purdie lands a right uppercut.  
Purdie lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Purdie is looking to close the distance and lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Purdie manouvers Frasier onto the ropes.  Frasier throws a right hook, but Purdie clinches his opponent.  Frasier leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Purdie's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Purdie is looking to close the distance and connects with a firm right uppercut.  
Purdie lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Purdie quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Frasier is on target with a left hook.  
Purdie closes the distance and lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Purdie lands a sharp right hook.  
Purdie manouvers his opponent into the corner.  Purdie quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Purdie lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Purdie digs in a sharp left hook to Frasier's ribs.  
Purdie walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Purdie lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Frasier's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Frasier's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

Purdie steps inside.  Frasier throws a left hook, but Purdie ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Purdie pushes his forearm into Frasier's face.  The referee warns Purdie and breaks the clinch.

Frasier sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Purdie is on target with a sharp right uppercut to his opponents ribcage.
