Dave Kilduff vs Jordan McQuary

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at Royal ICC, Brisbane,  taking place on 27/09/2024:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Dave Kilduff (7 - 0) who hails from Sydney, Australia and Jordan McQuary(1 - 0) from Gold Coast, Australia.  Both Kilduff and McQuary weighed in at 115 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ewan Duffy, and the three ringside judges are Leon Kellar, Steven Candreva and Neil McAllaster.  

Round 1: 

McQuary steps inside.  Kilduff is on target with a firm left hook to his opponents body.  
Kilduff lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Kilduff lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Kilduff gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the body, a left uppercut to the body and a left hook to the head.  
Kilduff manages to force McQuary onto the ropes.  Kilduff lands a right hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a right uppercut to the body.  
Kilduff attempts to land a right hook, but McQuary sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Kilduff sidesteps to the left of his opponent and drives a firm right hook into his opponents ribs.  
Kilduff lands a sharp left uppercut.  
McQuary throws a left hook, but Kilduff clinches his opponent.  Kilduff is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks Kilduff's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Kilduff connects with a solid left hook.  
Kilduff is on target with a stinging left hook to his opponents ribs.  As McQuary tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Kilduff dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Kilduff lands with a sharp jab.  
McQuary advances into close range and cuts off the ring, trapping Kilduff on the ropes.  Kilduff digs in a right hook to McQuary's body.  
Kilduff lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Kilduff lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Kilduff lands a solid cross.  
McQuary lands a right hook followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Kilduff gets on the inside and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...McQuary's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  McQuary's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

McQuary steps inside.  Kilduff connects with a left uppercut.  Kilduff holds on to his opponent.  Kilduff tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits McQuary's kidney. Kilduff tries to land a left hook, but McQuary blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Kilduff is on target with a cross.  
Kilduff is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook.  
Kilduff lands two consecutive right uppercuts to his opponents head.  
Kilduff gets on the inside and connects with a right uppercut.  
McQuary sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  McQuary throws a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left hook.

The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to McQuary.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.  
McQuary quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and finds the target with a jab.
