Charles Ormond vs Glynn Aikins

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at Royal ICC, Brisbane,  taking place on 27/09/2024:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Charles Ormond (6 - 1) who hails from Sydney, Australia and Glynn Aikins(6 - 7 - 1) from Wellington, New Zealand.  Both Ormond and Aikins weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ewan Duffy, and the three ringside judges are Steven Candreva, Leon Kellar and Neil McAllaster.  

Round 1: 

Ormond is on target with a left hook.  
Ormond throws a left uppercut, but the shot is blocked.  Ormond ties up his opponent.  Aikins is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Aikins about fouling.  
Ormond steps inside and digs in a left hook to Aikins's ribs.  
Ormond walks his opponent down, trapping him in a corner.  Ormond lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the head and a right hook to the body.  
Ormond forces Aikins to retreat into a corner.  Aikins hits home with a right hook.  Ormond holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Ormond pushes his forearm into Aikins's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Ormond about fouling.  
Ormond lands a left hook to the body followed by a cross to the head.  
Ormond gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Ormond advances into close range and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Ormond is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.

Ormond forces Aikins to retreat onto the ropes.  Ormond lands a left hook.  
Ormond drives a solid left uppercut into his opponents body.
