Amin Sommai vs Kiatchai Khumpiam

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Thailand-Bangkok promoted show at Bangkok Suwanasit, Bangkok,  taking place on 01/10/2024:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Thailand Super Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Channel 7, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Amin Sommai (11(5) - 0) who hails from Pak Kret, Thailand and Kiatchai Khumpiam(5 - 2) from Bangkok, Thailand.  Both Sommai and Khumpiam weighed in at 122 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Rachamongkol Nukulsompratana, and the three ringside judges are Kiatchai Rungvisai, Kompayak Chaiyonk and Yokthong Pathompothong.  

Round 1: 

Sommai sidesteps to the right of his opponent and is on target with a jab.  
Sommai lands a solid overhand right.  
Khumpiam attempts to land a jab, but Sommai blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Sommai steps to the outside and lands two straights followed by a jab to his opponents head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Khumpiam almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Khumpiam tries to land a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Khumpiam attempts to land a cross, but Sommai blocks the shot and counters with a mean right uppercut.  KHUMPIAM IS HURT!  
Sommai is really starting to turn up the heat!  He senses a stoppage here.  Sommai lands a left hook, right uppercut and a left hook to his opponents head, AND KNOCKS KHUMPIAM DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 6.  Khumpiam now seems to have his senses back.  
Khumpiam throws a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a nasty cross.  KHUMPIAM WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  
Some sustained pressure from Sommai could be enough to finish Khumpiam!  Sommai lands a left uppercut followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head, AND KNOCKS KHUMPIAM DOWN!  He manages to get up at 9.  Khumpiam now seems to have got his legs back.  
Khumpiam throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a hurtful right hook.  KHUMPIAM WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Khumpiam recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Sommai lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  
Khumpiam advances into close range.  Sommai is on target with a solid right hook to his opponents body.  
Sommai is on target with a right hook to his opponents ribs.  
Khumpiam sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Sommai connects with an overhand right.  
Khumpiam gets on the inside and walks Sommai down, trapping him on the ropes.  Khumpiam sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Khumpiam tries to land a left uppercut, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Sommai connects with a DESTRUCTIVE cross.  KHUMPIAM IS DROPPED TO THE CANVAS!  THE REF STOPS THE FIGHT!  HE DOES NOT BELIEVE KHUMPIAM CAN CONTINUE!  The fight has been stopped!  The winner by TKO is Sommai!
