Jacob Liston vs John Gill

Boxing Daily Report from the Elite Prizefighters promoted show at Greenbank Sports Academy, Liverpool,  taking place on 13/09/2024:

Clearly Elite Prizefighters have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Jacob Liston (4 - 0) who hails from Bristol, UK and John Gill(0 - 2) from Bristol, UK.  Liston weighed in at 228 pounds and 3 ounces, while Gill weighed in at 229 pounds and 6 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Paul McCalla, and the three ringside judges are Rob Law, Jack Keefe and Zain Salam.  

Round 1: 

Liston gets on the inside and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  Liston holds on to his opponent.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Gill switches the action to the outside.  Liston is on target with a jab.  
Liston steps inside and walks Gill onto the ropes.  Liston throws a right uppercut, but his opponent avoids the shot.  Liston holds on to his opponent.  Liston pushes his forearm into Gill's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Liston steps to the outside and lands a cross followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Gill switches the action to the outside.  Gill sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Liston is on target with a spiteful jab.  
Liston closes the distance and lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Liston hits home with a left uppercut.  
Liston forces Gill to retreat into a corner.  Gill throws a left hook, but Liston ties up his opponent.  Liston is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Liston about fouling.  
Liston throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Liston pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Liston sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Liston steps inside and lands a right hook followed by  two left hooks to his opponents head.  Liston clinches his opponent.  Liston is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Gill is looking to keep his distance.  Liston lands a jab, cross and an overhand left to his opponents head.  
Liston advances into close range.  Gill throws a left hook, but Liston ties up his opponent.  Liston uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Gill behind the head. The ref breaks Liston's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Liston walks Gill into the corner.  Liston connects with a firm right hook.  
Liston hits home with a right hook.  
Liston steps inside and lands a right uppercut.  
Liston quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and finds the target with a solid jab.  
Liston lands a sharp left hook.  
Liston is on target with a right hook to his opponents ribcage.

Liston forces Gill to back into the ropes.  Liston is on target with a left hook to Gill's liver.  
Gill steps to the outside.  Liston lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Liston connects with a firm left uppercut.  
Gill is looking to keep his distance.  Liston lands a cross, overhand left and a cross to his opponents head.
