Montel Lantigua vs David Chalmers

Boxing Daily Report from the Showtime Promotions promoted show at BB King Blues Club & Grill, New York City,  taking place on 30/09/2024:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on MSG Network, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Montel Lantigua (8 - 1 - 1) who hails from Bayamon, Puerto Rico and David Chalmers(4 - 10 - 4) from Chicago, USA.  Both Lantigua and Chalmers weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is James Daley, and the three ringside judges are Mel Giorgetti, Davie Cleary and Ben Hopkins.  

Round 1: 

Lantigua forces Chalmers to retreat into the corner.  Lantigua attempts to land a jab, but Chalmers parries the shot and counters with a left hook.

The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Chalmers dabs at his face checking for damage.
