Patrick Strahan vs Sammy Poet

Boxing Daily Report from the Navasartyan Promotions promoted show at Dave Urwin Gym, Columbus,  taking place on 18/10/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  On the line tonight is the USA-Great Lakes Light Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Patrick Strahan (11 - 1) who hails from Columbus, USA and Sammy Poet(3 - 6 - 2) from Detroit, USA.  Strahan weighed in at 107 pounds And 12 ounces, while Poet weighed in at 108 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ellis Mings, and the three ringside judges are Wayne Slaight, Ben Begue and Duncan Brody.  

Round 1: 

Strahan closes the distance and connects with a left hook.  Strahan clinches his opponent.  Strahan is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Strahan to stop fouling.  
Strahan switches the action to the outside.  Strahan sidesteps to the right of his opponent and connects with a cross.  
Strahan gets on the inside.  Poet pivots to the side of his opponent.  Strahan lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Strahan advances into close range and lands a right hook, left hook and a right hook to his opponents head.  Strahan holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Strahan pushes his forearm into Poet's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Strahan pivots to the right of his opponent and lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Poet leans back on the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Strahan tries to tag Poet on the ropes, but his opponent blocks every shot!  
Strahan is on target with a right uppercut.  Strahan ties up his opponent.  Strahan is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Strahan uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Poet's kidney.
