Yago Orihuela vs Jesus Gonsales

Boxing Daily Report from the Baddog promoted show at Royal York Hotel, Toronto,  taking place on 28/10/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Yago Orihuela (15(11) - 0) who hails from Santiago de Cuba, Cuba and Jesus Gonsales(12 - 4 - 3) from Mexico City, Mexico.  Both Orihuela and Gonsales weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Jean-Baptiste Villon, and the three ringside judges are Josh Watson, Mark Mowat and Euan Mair.  

Round 1: 

Orihuela feints a jab, tricking Gonsales into throwing a right uppercut counter.  Orihuela springs the trap, countering with  a left uppercut to his opponents body.

Orihuela cuts off the ring, trapping Gonsales in the red corner.  Orihuela lands a left uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  
Gonsales connects with a cross.  
Gonsales lands a jab followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Orihuela steps inside and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Orihuela lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Orihuela gets on the inside and throws a left hook, but the shot is blocked.  Orihuela clinches his opponent.  Orihuela pushes his forearm into Gonsales's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.

Orihuela advances into close range and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  Orihuela ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Orihuela pushes his forearm into Gonsales's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Gonsales is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Orihuela lands a cross.  
Gonsales throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a sharp cross.  
Gonsales tries to land a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook.

Orihuela steps inside and lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the body and a right hook to the head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Gonsales almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Orihuela is on target with a sharp right hook.  Orihuela holds on to his opponent.  Gonsales leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Orihuela lands a cross to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  
Orihuela gets on the inside.  Orihuela senses a stoppage victory - he just needs the right shot.  Orihuela lands two consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head, AND DROPS GONSALES!  He tries to rise on shaky legs but Gonsales cant beat the count!  The winner by KO is Orihuela!
