Michael Weatherspoon vs Scott Crombie

Boxing Daily Report from the AI USA-Illinois promoted show at Naperville Kincaide, Naperville,  taking place on 23/09/2024:

Clearly AI USA-Illinois have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Michael Weatherspoon (1 - 0) who hails from New Haven, USA and Scott Crombie(1 - 5 - 1) from Richmond, Canada.  Weatherspoon weighed in at 200 pounds, while Crombie weighed in at 199 pounds And 5 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Will Girvin, and the three ringside judges are Rex McNiven, Inigo Gillies and Patrick Baker.

Weatherspoon gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Crombie's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Crombie's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Crombie's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Crombie's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Crombie dabs at his face checking for damage.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Crombie.
