Chinedu Onubogu vs Fedor Povetkin

Boxing Daily Report from the Quick Tan Promotions promoted show at Durban Convention Centre, Durban,  taking place on 26/10/2024:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Chinedu Onubogu (8(5) - 0) who hails from Kaduna, Nigeria and Fedor Povetkin(3 - 3) from Minsk, Belarus.  Onubogu weighed in at 199 pounds and 2 ounces, while Povetkin weighed in at 199 pounds and 9 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Sam Van Onselen, and the three ringside judges are Ollie Rensburg, Cody Fuani and Kasi Mogoeng.  

Round 1: 

Onubogu gets on the inside.  Povetkin throws a right hook, but Onubogu ties up his opponent.  Onubogu is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. As they grapple, Onubogu pushes his forearm into Povetkin's face.  The ref breaks Onubogu's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Onubogu gets on the inside and lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Onubogu lands a left hook to the head, a right uppercut to the body and a right hook to the head.  
Povetkin throws a right hook, but Onubogu ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Onubogu pushes his forearm into Povetkin's face.  The referee warns Onubogu and breaks the clinch.  
Onubogu quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the head and a right hook to the body.  
Povetkin cuts off the ring, trapping Onubogu on the ropes.  Onubogu hits home with a left hook.  
Povetkin advances into close range.  Onubogu digs in a stinging right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Onubogu is on target with a stinging left uppercut to his opponents body.
