Dai Konda vs Aoi Horiuchi

Boxing Daily Report from the Panyin Promotions promoted show at Fumio Nakada Gym, Kurume,  taking place on 23/10/2024:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Japan-Fukuoka Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Dai Konda (12 - 2 - 1) who hails from Fukuoka, Japan and Aoi Horiuchi(7 - 6 - 2) from Kurume, Japan.  Both Konda and Horiuchi weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Hiroki Sawa, and the three ringside judges are Akira Umemoto, Kaede Kuba and Kaede Aki.  

Round 1: 

Horiuchi advances into close range and hits home with a left hook.  
Horiuchi is looking to close the distance.  Konda pivots to the left of his opponent.  Horiuchi connects with a left hook.  
Konda pivots to the side of his opponent and is on target with a right hook to his opponents ribcage.  
Konda gets on the inside and is on target with a left hook to Horiuchi's body.  
Horiuchi finds the target with a jab.  
Konda pivots to the right of his opponent.  Horiuchi is on target with a left hook to Konda's body.

Konda lands a jab to his opponents body.  Konda throws a right hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Horiuchi walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Horiuchi connects with a right hook.  
Konda attempts to land a jab, but Horiuchi sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Konda is looking to keep his distance and lands a jab.

Konda is on target with a left hook.  
Horiuchi throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Horiuchi advances into close range.  Konda throws a right hook, but Horiuchi holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Horiuchi pushes his forearm into Konda's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Horiuchi about fouling.
