Agapetus Placido vs Oleos Mesa

Boxing Daily Report from the ADR Boxing promoted show at Trinity University Gym, Quezon City,  taking place on 13/11/2024:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  On the line tonight is the Philippines-NCR Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Agapetus Placido (7(4) - 0) who hails from Manila, Philippines and Oleos Mesa(14 - 4 - 3) from Quezon City, Philippines.  Placido weighed in at 111 pounds And 14 ounces, while Mesa weighed in at 111 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Vicente Tapawan, and the three ringside judges are Onofre Dimasalang, Gervasio Bague and Olindo Manrique.  

Round 1: 

Placido steps away from his opponent and lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  
Mesa closes the distance.  Placido lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Placido tries to step out of his opponents range and lands with a stinging jab.

Placido switches the action to the outside and strikes his opponents body with a firm cross.  
Mesa advances into close range and throws a right hook, but Placido ties up his opponent.  Placido is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.

Placido lands a powerful cross.  IT LOOKS LIKE MESA WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Mesa almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Placido switches the action to the outside and connects with a solid cross.  
Mesa closes the distance.  Placido lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  Placido holds on to his opponent.  Placido leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. As they grapple, Placido pushes his forearm into Mesa's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Placido about fouling.  
Placido switches the action to the outside and lands a straight 1 - 2.  He continues the combination and lands an overhand left followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Placido lands with a spiteful jab.  
Placido snaps his opponents head back with a hard jab.  
Placido lands a cross to the head, a jab to the body and a jab to the head.  
Mesa walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Placido lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Mesa advances into close range.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Placido dabs at his face checking for damage.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Placido.  That has caused a minor cut above the right eye.  .  
Placido throws a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Placido sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.  
Mesa is looking to close the distance.  Placido lands a left uppercut followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  He then lands a left hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  
Placido tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a jab followed by  two straights to his opponents head.

Placido quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a jab.

Mesa closes the distance.  Placido throws a right hook, but his opponent steps away from the punch.  Placido clinches his opponent.  Mesa pushes his forearm into Placido's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Mesa to stop fouling.

Placido contemptuously drops his hands, trying to provoke his opponent.  Mesa tries to land a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook to Mesa's body.  
Mesa closes the distance and forces Placido to retreat onto the ropes.  Mesa throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a potent right uppercut.  MESA WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Mesa almost instantly gets his legs back.
