Ian Shirer vs Michael Neave

Boxing Daily Report from the Aqua Marines Promotions promoted show at Gold Dome, Shreveport,  taking place on 10/11/2024:

Clearly Aqua Marines Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Ian Shirer (6 - 0) who hails from Columbus, USA and Michael Neave(3 - 3) from Hamilton, New Zealand.  Both Shirer and Neave weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Wayne Beaubien, and the three ringside judges are Chris Nisbett, Mick Main and Stuart Grieve.  

Round 1: 

Neave lands a jab.  
Shirer is looking to close the distance.  Shirer pivots to the right of his opponent and connects with a firm left hook.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Neave.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.  
Neave sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Neave tries to land a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left hook.
