Juan Escobedo vs Jaguar Ribas

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Bolivia-La Paz promoted show at Diego Espejo Gym, El Alto,  taking place on 14/11/2024:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Bolivia-La Paz Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Juan Escobedo (5 - 1 - 4) who hails from La Paz, Bolivia and Jaguar Ribas(9 - 0 - 2) from El Alto, Bolivia.  Both Escobedo and Ribas weighed in at 112 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Francisco Tomey, and the three ringside judges are Santiago Alire, Nicandro Ciprian and Noe Malagon.  

Round 1: 

Ribas closes the distance and digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Ribas gets on the inside.  Escobedo throws a right hook, but Ribas clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Ribas pushes his forearm into Escobedo's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Ribas about fouling.

The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Ribas dabs at his face checking for damage.  Ribas has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused slight damage to the nose.
