Shamus Power vs Majid Tabet

Boxing Daily Report from the Mr. Vicious promoted show at Royal Dublin Society, Dublin,  taking place on 30/11/2024:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Shamus Power (7(3) - 0) who hails from Dublin, Ireland and Majid Tabet(9 - 5 - 3) from Sharjah, UAE.  Both Power and Tabet weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Billy Ruane, and the three ringside judges are Michael Corcoran, Gareth Byrne and Dean Napier.  

Round 1: 

Power steps to the outside.  Tabet attempts to land a cross, but Power sidesteps and counters with a stinging left uppercut.  
Power manouvers his opponent into a neutral corner.  Power sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Tabet tries to land a left hook, but Power blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Power closes the distance and hits home with a right hook.  
Tabet throws a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Power drives a right hook into Tabet's body.  
Power hits home with a cross.  
Power lands a left hook to the body, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  Power ties up his opponent.  Power is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Tabet throws a right hook, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a sharp right uppercut.  
Power is on target with a left uppercut.  
Power pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body, a right uppercut to the body and a left hook to the head.  
Power lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Power gets on the inside and is on target with a stinging left uppercut to Tabet's body.  
Tabet throws a right uppercut, but Power ties up his opponent.  Power pushes his forearm into Tabet's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Power to stop fouling.  
Power lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Power is on target with a sharp jab.  
Power lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.  
Power advances into close range and lands a right hook.  
Power lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Power drives a right hook into Tabet's body.  
Power lands a left hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  He follows up the attack and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  Tabet wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Power dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Power is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands with a spiteful jab.  
Tabet steps inside.  Power lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Tabet's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Tabet's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Power switches the action to the outside.  Power feints a jab, fooling Tabet into throwing a right hook counter.  Power avoids the shot and counters with a solid left hook.  
Power lands a jab followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  
Power advances into close range and hits home with a sharp left hook.  
Power drives a sharp right hook into Tabet's body.  
Power lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a jab to the head.  
Power gets on the inside and lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Power is looking to keep the action on the outside and EXPLODES a WICKED cross into his opponents face.  IT LOOKS LIKE TABET WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Tabet recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Power lowers his guard, attempting to draw a lead.  Tabet tries to land a jab, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a sharp cross.  
Power is looking to keep his distance.  Power waits at the mid-range with a lowered guard, waiting for his opponent to throw a punch.  Tabet attempts to land a jab, but Power sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Power is looking to close the distance.  Power pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook.  
Power lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Power is on target with a cross.  
Power lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Tabet voluntarily retreats back onto the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Power is whaling away with hooks, but Tabet keeps his defence tight.  Power hits home with a left uppercut.  
Power sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Tabet steps inside.  Power is on target with a right hook to Tabet's ribcage.  
Power is on target with a left uppercut.  
Power feints a left, and then finds the target with a jab.  
Tabet advances into close range.  Power digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Power lands a right uppercut.  
Power gets on the inside and hits home with a right uppercut.  
Power throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Tabet's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Tabet's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

Power steps inside.  Tabet throws a left hook, but Power holds on to his opponent.  Power uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Tabet's kidney. 
Power lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Power hits home with a sharp right hook.  
Power drives a firm right hook into Tabet's ribs.  
Power is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Power closes the distance and hits home with a stinging left hook.  
Power digs in a left hook to his opponents ribs.  
Power closes the distance.  Power sidesteps to the right of his opponent and connects with a left hook.  
Power lands two consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents head.  
Power sidesteps to the right of his opponent and strikes his opponents body with a cross.  
Tabet steps inside.  Power connects with a stinging left hook.  
Power lands a right hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.

The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Power.  That has caused minor swelling  around the left eye.  
Power lands a right uppercut to the head, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the body.  Power ties up his opponent.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Power steps inside and lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Tabet quickly recovers.

Power connects with a left hook.  
Power lands a jab to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  
Power closes the distance and is on target with a stinging right uppercut to his opponents ribs.  
Power steps inside.  Tabet drives a right hook into Power's body.  
Power digs in a right hook to Tabet's ribcage.  
Tabet attempts to land a jab, but Power blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Power steps inside and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Tabet quickly recovers. 
Power lands a left uppercut followed by  two right hooks to his opponents head.  Power ties up his opponent.  Power leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Power is on target with a left hook.  
Power hits home with a right uppercut.  
Tabet advances into close range.  Power hits home with a left uppercut.  
Power throws a left hook, but the shot is blocked.  Power clinches his opponent.  Power throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Power.  
Power drives a firm left uppercut into his opponents liver.  
Power steps away from his opponent and lands a cross followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  
Power is on target with a hurtful right uppercut.  TABET IS HURT!  
Power tries to keep the action at long range.  Power knows Tabet is hurt...he is putting the pressure on now, looking for the stoppage.  Power is on target with a big right uppercut.  TABET IS DROPPED TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 6.  
Power is looking to close the distance.  Power lands a cross followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head, AND TABET IS DOWN!  He is unable to get up before the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Power!
