Ashley Sander vs Esteban Montanez

Boxing Daily Report from the North Star Boxing promoted show at Minneapolis Clingan, Minneapolis,  taking place on 07/01/2025:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Ashley Sander (7 - 0) who hails from Minneapolis, USA and Esteban Montanez(1 - 4 - 1) from Miami, USA.  Both Sander and Montanez weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Phil Bertel, and the three ringside judges are Brad Dey, Zachary Mattus and Charlie Genz.  

Round 1: 

Sander hits home with a left hook.  
Sander steps inside and tries to land a left uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Sander advances into close range.  Sander pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left uppercut to the head.  
Sander lands consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents body.  
Montanez lands a jab.  
Sander closes the distance and is on target with a right hook to his opponents ribcage.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Montanez's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Montanez's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Montanez's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Montanez's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.

Sander pivots to the left of his opponent and digs in a right uppercut to Montanez's body.  
Sander forces Montanez to back into a corner.  Sander lands a left uppercut to the body, a left hook to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Sander lands a right uppercut, left hook and a right hook to his opponents head.
