Brad Kelty vs Dai Colden

Boxing Daily Report from the Smoking Joe promoted show at Belasco Theatre, Los Angeles,  taking place on 10/12/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Brash Brad Kelty (8(5) - 0) who hails from Green Bay, USA and Dai Colden(14 - 4(1)) from Toronto, Canada.  Both Kelty and Colden weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Yasin Hashemi, and the three ringside judges are Dillon Yeoman, Charlie Valdivia and Mark Rielly.  

Round 1: 

Kelty lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  Kelty ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Kelty pushes his forearm into Colden's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Kelty about fouling.  
Kelty pivots to the right of his opponent.  Kelty drives a sharp right uppercut into his opponents body.  Kelty ties up his opponent.  Kelty is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Kelty lands a stinging right uppercut.  Kelty clinches his opponent.  Kelty leans on his opponent using all his weight. Kelty is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Kelty and breaks the clinch.  
Kelty lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.

Colden hits home with a right hook.  Kelty ties up his opponent.  Kelty is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Kelty closes the distance and lands a left uppercut, left hook and a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Kelty whips in a big right uppercut to his opponents body.  COLDEN IS DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  
Colden is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Kelty lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Kelty lands a firm cross.  
Kelty hits home with a sharp right hook.  
Kelty lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Kelty attempts to land a cross, but Colden parries the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Kelty walks Colden onto the ropes.  Colden connects with a cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Colden's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Colden's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Colden's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.
