Kamohelo Mini vs Andile Mbalula

Boxing Daily Report from the Adisi Promotions promoted show at Mitchells Plain Theron, Mitchells Plain,  taking place on 01/12/2024:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the South Africa-Western Cape Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Kamohelo Mini (9 - 3) who hails from Khayelitsha, South Africa and Andile Mbalula(4 - 7 - 4) from Cape Town, South Africa.  Both Mini and Mbalula weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Laken Ako, and the three ringside judges are Jake Tshipapayi, Kasi Hlatshwayo and Xhosas Serero.  

Round 1: 

Mini digs in a stinging right hook to Mbalula's ribs.  
Mini stalks forward with a low guard, trying to draw a lead from his opponent.  Mbalula hits home with a cross.  
Mini steps inside and lands a firm right hook.  
Mini pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a left uppercut followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Mini advances into close range.  Mbalula is on target with a right hook.  Mbalula throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref stops the action.  The ref sends Mini to the neutral corner.  He warns Mbalula that he could be heading for a point deduction.  
Mini lands three consecutive right hooks to his opponents head.  
Mini gets on the inside.  Mini pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Mini lands a left hook followed by  two right hooks to his opponents head.  
Mbalula connects with a left hook.  
Mini throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Mini gets on the inside and lands a left hook.

Mini is on target with a jab to Mbalula's body.  
Mini closes the distance.  Mini pivots to the left of his opponent and digs in a left hook to his opponents liver.  
Mini pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Mbalula has been damaged by that accidental headbutt.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.  
Mini steps inside.  Mini lands a left hook.  As Mini tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Mbalula dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Mini backs onto the ropes...he is waving his opponent in!  Mbalula accepts the invitation, throwing powerful combos, but is unable to land anything on Mini.  Mbalula connects with a right hook.
