Steven Firth vs John Pugh

Boxing Daily Report from the Bos Firefighters promoted show at University at Buffalo Alumni Arena, Buffalo,  taking place on 05/12/2024:

Clearly Bos Firefighters have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-New York State Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Fight Now TV, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Steven Firth (9 - 11) who hails from New York City, USA and John Pugh(10 - 4 - 3) from New York City, USA.  Both Firth and Pugh weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Mark Elley, and the three ringside judges are Enzo Pizzinato, John Peavey and Cole Milroy.  

Round 1: 

Pugh lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Firth throws a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Firth is looking to close the distance and lands consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents body.

Pugh manages to force Firth into the blue corner.  Pugh pivots from in front of his opponent.  Firth drives a left hook into Pugh's body.

The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Firth.  That has caused minor swelling  around the right eye.
