Tobias Davin vs Matthew Dower

Boxing Daily Report from the Showtime Promotions promoted show at Kitty Carlisle Hart Theatre, Albany,  taking place on 10/02/2025:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Fight Now TV, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Tobias Davin (11(3) - 0) who hails from New York City, USA and Matthew Dower(5 - 2) from Oklahoma City, USA.  Both Davin and Dower weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is James Daley, and the three ringside judges are Richard Denholm, Davie Cleary and James Daley.  

Round 1: 

Davin gets on the inside and hits home with a left hook.  Davin holds on to his opponent.  Davin is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Davin to stop fouling.  
Davin lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  Davin clinches his opponent.  Davin throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. Davin is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Dower lands a cross.  
Dower manouvers Davin onto the ropes.  Dower quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a cross.  
Davin is looking to close the distance and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  Davin ties up his opponent.  Davin tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Dower's kidney. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Dower sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Davin lands a left hook, right hook and a left hook to his opponents body.  
Davin walks his opponent into the corner.  Davin lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  He then lands a right hook to the body, a left uppercut to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Davin lands a left hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  
Davin lands a right hook to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a right hook to the body.  
Davin is on target with a left hook to Dower's body.  
Davin closes the distance and lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  Davin clinches his opponent.  Davin leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Davin hits home with a right uppercut.  Davin clinches his opponent.  Davin uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Dower behind the head. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Davin.  
Davin forces Dower to retreat onto the ropes.  Davin pivots to the side of his opponent and connects with a stinging left hook.

Davin lands a left uppercut.  Davin clinches his opponent.  Davin leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Davin's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  Davin tries to land a right hook, but Dower slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Davin lands a right hook followed by a cross to his opponents body.  
Davin lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Davin sidesteps to the right of his opponent and digs in a left hook to Dower's body.  
Davin pivots to the left of his opponent.  Davin digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  Davin ties up his opponent.  Davin uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Dower's kidney. Davin throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. 
Davin is on target with a stinging left hook.  Davin holds on to his opponent.  Davin throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref breaks Davin's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  Dower wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Davin dabs at his face checking for damage.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Dower's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Dower's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.

Dower voluntarily retreats back onto the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Davin steps in throwing power shots but is unable to land cleanly.  Davin lands a left hook to the head, a left hook to the body and a cross to the head.  
Davin lands a right hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the head.  
Davin drops his guard, and stalks his opponent...he wants his opponent to throw a shot.  Dower tries to land a cross, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Davin hits home with a cross.  
Davin lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Dower tries to land a cross, but Davin sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut to Dower's liver.  
Davin steps inside and drives a right hook into Dower's ribcage.  Davin clinches his opponent.  Davin pushes his forearm into Dower's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Davin to stop fouling.  
Dower steps to the outside.  Davin is on target with a cross.  
Davin closes the distance.  Dower attempts to land a left hook, but Davin blocks the shot and counters with a solid right hook.  
Davin lands a left hook to the body followed by a cross to the head.  
Davin steps inside and connects with a right hook.  
Davin steps inside and is on target with a right hook.  Davin holds on to his opponent.  Davin leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The referee breaks the clinch and warns Davin to stop holding.
