Jemond Clary vs Geron Benichou

Boxing Daily Report from the Pianim Promotions promoted show at Antwerp Van Ackere, Antwerp,  taking place on 23/12/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  On the line tonight is the Belgium-Wallonia Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Jemond Clary (3 - 5 - 1) who hails from Liege, Belgium and Geron Benichou(6 - 4 - 1) from Charleroi, Belgium.  Both Clary and Benichou weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Jeremie Roussel, and the three ringside judges are Anicetus Cassel, Drees Lampsins and Prewitt Feydeau.  

Round 1: 

Benichou switches the action to the outside and throws an overhand right, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Clary closes the distance.  Benichou hits home with a left uppercut.  
Benichou tries to land a jab, but Clary blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Benichou quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Clary drives a left uppercut into his opponents body.  
Clary gets on the inside.  Clary pivots to the left of his opponent and digs in a left hook to Benichou's body.  
Benichou steps back and leans on the ropes with his guard up.  Clary accepts the invitation, throwing powerful combos, but is unable to land anything on Benichou.  
Clary sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Benichou throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Clary gets on the inside.  Clary pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Clary.  That has caused a minor cut in the corner of the right eye.  .
