Jair Arcila vs Zack Ankomah

Boxing Daily Report from the Rattlesnake Promotions promoted show at Don Haskins Convention Center, El Paso,  taking place on 21/12/2024:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on HBO, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Jair Arcila (14(8) - 1) who hails from Duran, Ecuador and Zack Ankomah(11 - 5(1) - 3) from Kumasi, Ghana.  Both Arcila and Ankomah weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Amon East, and the three ringside judges are Noah Fergusson, Sid Hackney and Paul Mings.  

Round 1: 

Arcila gets on the inside and lands a left uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  Arcila clinches his opponent.  Arcila pushes his forearm into Ankomah's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Arcila about fouling.  
Arcila is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a sharp cross.  
Arcila sidesteps to the right of his opponent and connects with a cross.  
Ankomah gets on the inside.  Arcila lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  Arcila ties up his opponent.  Arcila leans on his opponent trying to wear him down.
