Paul Evans vs Gethin Ormond

Boxing Daily Report from the AI USA-California promoted show at Phoenix Club, Anaheim,  taking place on 25/12/2024:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Paul Evans (8(4) - 0) who hails from Modesto, USA and Gethin Ormond(2 - 5 - 1) from Chicago, USA.  Both Evans and Ormond weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Guillermo De la Torre, and the three ringside judges are Dave Boothe, Bryan Kea and Robert Rosser.  

Round 1: 

Evans lands with a hard jab.  
Evans pivots to the side of his opponent and connects with a firm right hook.  
Evans hits the target with a hard jab.

Evans is looking to close the distance.  Ormond pivots from in front of his opponent.  Evans lands a solid right hook.

Ormond advances into close range.  Evans hits home with a stinging right hook.  
Evans advances into close range and is on target with a left hook to Ormond's liver.

Ormond is not fighting as well as he'd like.   He pushes his head into Evans's face...that looked intentional!  The foul has worsened the damage  around the left eye.  The ref takes no action over the foul, despite complaints from Evans.
