Ming Wu vs Goro Sakurai

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Japan-Osaka promoted show at Yodogawa Ward Center, Osaka,  taking place on 24/12/2024:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Ming Wu (10 - 0) who hails from Xian, China and Goro Sakurai(7 - 7 - 3) from Akashi, Japan.  Wu weighed in at 122 pounds, while Sakurai weighed in at 121 pounds and 9 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Hikaru Mayeda, and the three ringside judges are Kei Ueda, Kazuhiko Tsutsumi and Eiji Sakata.  

Round 1: 

Wu closes the distance and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Sakurai tries to land a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right hook.

The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Sakurai has taken some damage from that accidental headbutt.  That has caused slight damage to the nose.
