Teague Mellis vs Connor Ariweriyai

Boxing Daily Report from the Bos Firefighters promoted show at Buffalo State Sports Arena, Buffalo,  taking place on 10/01/2025:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the WRBC Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Teague Mellis (17(1) - 3(2)) who hails from Athens, Greece and Connor Ariweriyai(10(4) - 3(2)) from Kaduna, Nigeria.  Both Mellis and Ariweriyai weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Justin Findley, and the three ringside judges are Cristiano Grimaldi, Leighton MacGinnis and Dom Kilgour.  

Round 1: 

Mellis pivots to the right of his opponent.  Ariweriyai lands a spiteful jab.  
Mellis tries to land a right hook, but Ariweriyai blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Mellis advances into close range and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  Mellis tries to land a right hook, but Ariweriyai sidesteps and counters with a sharp right hook.

Ariweriyai manouvers his opponent into a corner.  Ariweriyai lands a right hook followed by a cross to his opponents body.  
Ariweriyai quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Mellis hits home with a right uppercut.  
Ariweriyai drives a left hook into Mellis's body.  
Ariweriyai is looking to close the distance.  Ariweriyai pivots to the right of his opponent and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.

Ariweriyai sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Mellis throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook to Mellis's body.

Ariweriyai forces Mellis to retreat onto the ropes.  Ariweriyai lands a jab to the head followed by a cross to the body.  
Ariweriyai pivots to the right of his opponent.  Ariweriyai tries to land a jab, but Mellis dodges the shot and counters with a solid cross.  
Ariweriyai gets on the inside.  As Ariweriyai tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref steps in and separates the two fighters to check for damage.  Its not looking good!  The ref has ruled that the fight cannot continue due to the accidental damage.  As less than 4 rounds have been completed its going to be a no-contest!
