Francois Aragon vs Fedor Nerchenko

Boxing Daily Report from the Frank Smith’s Tea Boy Promotions promoted show at Dynamo Palace of Sports, Moscow,  taking place on 03/01/2025:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Rossiya 2, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Francois Aragon (17(10) - 1) who hails from Orleans, France and Fedor Nerchenko(17 - 3) from Saint Petersburg, Russia.  Both Aragon and Nerchenko weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Afon Rastvortsev, and the three ringside judges are Kolya Polyansky, Borya Dundukov and Sergei Markowski.  

Round 1: 

Aragon lands a jab.  
Aragon switches the action to the outside and is on target with a solid cross.  
Nerchenko throws a right uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.

Aragon steps inside.  Nerchenko throws a right uppercut, but Aragon ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Aragon pushes his forearm into Nerchenko's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Aragon to stop fouling.

Nerchenko tries to land a jab, but Aragon parries the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Aragon connects with a sharp overhand right.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Aragon's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Nerchenko's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Nerchenko's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.

Aragon lands a cross to the body, a jab to the head and an overhand right to the head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  
Some sustained pressure from Aragon could be enough to finish Nerchenko!  Aragon lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head, AND SENDS NERCHENKO TO THE CANVAS!  He tries to rise on shaky legs but Nerchenko cant beat the count!  The winner by KO is Aragon!
