Dai Kimmey vs John Cather

Boxing Daily Report from the T5 Promotions promoted show at T5 Gym, North Shore,  taking place on 04/01/2025:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Dai Kimmey (8 - 0) who hails from Auckland, New Zealand and John Cather(1 - 4) from Waitakere, New Zealand.  Both Kimmey and Cather weighed in at 108 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Brin Stackpole, and the three ringside judges are Ollie Scobie, Kenzie Anderson and Jake Smith.  

Round 1: 

Cather throws a left uppercut, but Kimmey clinches his opponent.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Kimmey lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Kimmey cuts off the ring, trapping Cather in the corner.  Kimmey lands a left hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  
Cather hits home with a cross.

Kimmey manouvers his opponent into a corner.  Kimmey lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Cather.  That has caused swelling  around the left eye.  
Cather throws a left uppercut, but his opponent parries the shot.  Kimmey clinches his opponent.  Kimmey pushes his forearm into Cather's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Kimmey about fouling.  
Cather lands a jab.  
Kimmey lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the head and a left uppercut to the body.  
Cather tries to keep the action at long range.  Kimmey feints a right hook, and then drives a cross into his opponents body.
