Pyotr Baltroze vs Villiam Korpi

Boxing Daily Report from the Latvia Boxing promoted show at Skonto Hall, Riga,  taking place on 03/02/2025:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Viasat Sport Baltic, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Pyotr Baltroze (9 - 1) who hails from Riga, Latvia and Villiam Korpi(6 - 7) from Tampere, Finland.  Baltroze weighed in at 256 pounds And 9 ounces, while Korpi weighed in at 234 pounds And 13 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Luka Ozolitis, and the three ringside judges are Goga Sulainis, Afon Shaurinsh and Aleksandr Austrinsh.  

Round 1: 

Baltroze lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Korpi is looking to keep his distance.  Baltroze hits home with a firm cross.

Baltroze closes the distance.  Korpi throws a right uppercut, but Baltroze ties up his opponent.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Baltroze throws a right hook, but is off-target.  Baltroze clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Baltroze pushes his forearm into Korpi's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Baltroze closes the distance and digs in a left hook to his opponents ribs.  
Baltroze closes the distance and walks Korpi down, trapping him in a corner.  Baltroze connects with a right hook.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Korpi dabs at his face checking for damage.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Korpi's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Korpi's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Korpi's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Korpi's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.
