Rob Gowans vs Kyle Carnegie

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Canada-Alberta promoted show at Edmonton Hackney, Edmonton,  taking place on 16/01/2025:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Canada Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Fight Network, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Rob Gowans (9 - 0) who hails from Edmonton, Canada and Kyle Carnegie(9 - 7 - 3) from Toronto, Canada.  Both Gowans and Carnegie weighed in at 112 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Chris Bach, and the three ringside judges are Louis Cauldwell, Wayne Gall and Dylan Humiston.  

Round 1: 

Gowans gets on the inside and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Gowans sidesteps to the left of his opponent and drives a stiff jab into his opponents face.  
Carnegie switches the action to the outside.  Gowans sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands two straights followed by a jab to his opponents head.

Carnegie quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Gowans goes for the bodyshot, but lands south of the border!  The ref stops the action.  The ref sends Carnegie to the neutral corner.  He tells Gowans he will lose a point if he continues to foul.
