Amer Farah vs Waqar Khalil

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Egypt-Shubra El-Kheima promoted show at Shubra El-Kheima Hamdy, Shubra El-Kheima,  taking place on 19/01/2025:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Egypt Light Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Modern Sport, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Amer Farah (13 - 6 - 2) who hails from Shubra El-Kheima, Egypt and Waqar Khalil(9 - 3) from Cairo, Egypt.  Both Farah and Khalil weighed in at 175 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Saad Tahan, and the three ringside judges are Majid Mustafa, Abdul Yousuf and Ibrahim Naim.  

Round 1: 

Farah lands a cross.  
Khalil feints a right, and then throws a cross, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Khalil steps inside and drives a right hook into Farah's ribcage.  Khalil ties up his opponent.  Khalil is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Khalil about fouling.  
Farah is looking to keep his distance and strikes his opponents body with a jab.

Khalil manages to force Farah onto the ropes.  Khalil quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Farah throws a right uppercut, but Khalil holds on to his opponent.  Khalil tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Farah's kidney. The referee breaks the clinch and warns Khalil to stop fouling.
