Alec Bratton vs Arthur McGuinness

Boxing Daily Report from the Ace Boxing promoted show at Radisson Hotel, Glasgow,  taking place on 27/01/2025:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Eurosport UK, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Alec Bratton (4 - 4 - 3) who hails from Coventry, UK and Arthur McGuinness(5 - 2 - 4) from Liverpool, UK.  Both Bratton and McGuinness weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Thomas Ryan, and the three ringside judges are Bruce McBeth, Thomas Ryan and James Matthew.  

Round 1: 

Bratton closes the distance.  McGuinness connects with a left hook.  Bratton holds on to his opponent.  Bratton leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Bratton tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a jab followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.

McGuinness switches the action to the outside and tries to land a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
McGuinness is looking to keep his distance.  Bratton tries to land a cross, but McGuinness dodges the shot and counters with a right hook.  
McGuinness tries to keep the action at long range.  Bratton lands a jab.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Bratton's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  McGuinness's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.

Bratton advances into close range.  McGuinness lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
McGuinness tries to step out of his opponents range and tries to land a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut to McGuinness's liver.

As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as McGuinness dabs at his face checking for damage.
