Colin Acquah vs Kendis Acheampong

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Ghana-Northern Ghana promoted show at Tamale Mir, Tamale,  taking place on 20/01/2025:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Ghana-Northern Ghana Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on bTV Action, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Colin Acquah (9 - 7(1) - 2) who hails from Tamale, Ghana and Kendis Acheampong(10 - 6 - 2) from Tamale, Ghana.  Both Acquah and Acheampong weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Sam Adabor, and the three ringside judges are Fraser Habe, Antwan Asamoah and Obiajulu Alhassan.  

Round 1: 

Acquah is on target with a jab.

Acheampong advances into close range and manouvers his opponent into a corner.  Acheampong tries to land a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Acheampong feints a right hook, and then finds the target with a jab.  
Acheampong hits home with a cross.  
Acquah tries to land a right uppercut, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Acheampong has been damaged by that accidental headbutt.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.  
Acheampong digs in a left hook to his opponents liver.
